Meetings

 

Network Meeting - With guest speakers are usually held on the last Tuesday of every month at different local venues, 6.30 for 7.00pm start.

 

The evening usually includes an introduction by the Chairman, dinner and address by the guest speaker with questions from the floor. 

 

These meetings provide a great opportunity to establish contacts and networks that are useful, as well as providing a social get together.

 

Executive Committee Meetings - these are held the second Tuesday of every month.

The Chamber Offers Business Opportunities and the benefits of joining the KDCC include: -

  • The Chamber is the united voice of business in our community to liaise with Local, State and Federal Government representatives.
  • Executive members liaise with Kiama Council regularly, supporting local business on various issues
  • A strong and committed voice to government and local government and the community
  • Upholding interests of business community in the Municipality of Kiama
  • Liaison with Tourism Kiama on promotional activities including representation on the Tourism’s Executive Board
  • Staging and sponsoring major tourism events and community projects
  • KDCC representation on Kiama Council’s Economic Development, Commercial Centres, Traffic, Plastic Bag, Cultural Committees and Police Advisory Committee
  • Commitment to generation of local employment opportunities
  • Encourage business after normal trading hours and outdoor dining venues
  • Workshops / Education sessions / Seminars / Mentor programs when available
  • Electronic Listing of Membership Services
  • Sponsorship of economic surveys in the Kiama Municipality
  • KDCC membership of the Illawarra Research and Information Services provides survey publications
  • KDCC helps potential/new members locate suitable personal and commercial accommodation by introducing them to Real Estate members.
  • KDCC offers existing and prospective members a direct or linked presence to their business via the Chamber's website.
  • Through its broadcast email service KDCC offers members the opportunity to advertise their products and services and provides regular updates of information to members
  • Through its network meetings KDCC introduces members to each other so that they can locate suppliers of products and services that are beneficial to their business.

 

Sponsors Events

 

The Chamber sponsors many major events in the Municipality including Music in the Park, Street Parades, lighting of the Kiama Lights and Firework displays. It is also the Owner of the monthly Kiama Seaside Craft Markets at Black Beach. All of which encourages visitors to the Kiama Municipality.
