There are regular meeting and events held throughout the year and include: -

 

Executive Board Meeting - These are usually held on the second Tuesday of every month.

 

Network Meeting - With guest speakers are usually held on the last Tuesday of every month at different local venues, 6.30 for 7.00pm start.

 

Kiama Craft Market - The Craft Market is open 9am - 3pm on the third Sunday of every month and on occasional public holidays at Black Beach.  Enjoy a fantastic array of local arts, crafts, collectables and produce.  Ph.(02) 4232 4110

 

Street Parade and Band Concert - Is an annual event providing local businesses the opportunity to show case their services in a fun atmosphere, complete with marching bands and dancing girls, culminating in a band concert in Hindmarsh Park.

 

Fireworks - The New Year Eve festive fireworks, containing 12 - 14 minutes of spectacular images, are enjoyed by thousands of people mainly families who enjoy the family friendly time of 9pm.  They have a chance to picnic around the Harbour foreshore, dine alfresco in harbour side restaurants or watch the firework display from their own home balconies.

 

Festive Lights of Kiama - The dazzling tree lights lining the foreshore and harbour were sponsored by the Kiama and District Chamber of Commerce and local businesses and brilliantly reflect the community spirit of Kiama. They are switched on at Easter, Anzac Day and Christmas.

 

Photo Competitions - The stunning picture of the Kiama Post Office at night featured in this website came from Michael Stoboi from a range of outstanding entries to the Annual Photo competition.

 

Jazz events - The Kiama Jazz festival is a whole week-end of Jazz which takes place the first weekend in March.

 

The Chamber supports the Lions Club and Rotary Club activities

 

Art - The Chamber sponsors prizes for the annual Kiama Art Show

Tuesday evening, with a unanimous vote by all attendees, the new Executive Committee of the Kiama & District Chamber of Commerce elected their office holders for the year ahead.

 

The new elected Office Holders are:

At the recent Executive Board meeting of the Kiama & District Chamber of Commerce, held on Tuesday, November 11th, the Board accepted with regret, the unexpected resignation due to business demands, of the recently appointed Chamber President, Maggie Taylor. The Board then unanimously voted in, as incoming President, Patrick Mahedy, and for the information of members and potential Chamber members, the Executive Board is now made up of the following members. Maggie Taylor has agreed to remain on the Board in the capacity of Immediate Past President.

Business Network Meeting:

The Chambers’ next network meeting will be held this evening (19/11/08) at the Bellachara Boutique Hotel, Gerringong.  Starting at 6pm for 6.30pm start and ending at around 8.30 pm. This network meeting will include an opportunity to ‘Meet & Greet’ the new Executive Board of the Chamber, and also the newly elected Kiama Municipality Councillors and Council Directors. The subsidised cost of $20.00 per head is inclusive of hot & cold food, wine and beer. This will be an enjoyable and worthwhile business networking opportunity, and a pleasant evening out, so do attend if you can.

 

Upcoming Events:

In early December, Kiama’s stunning tree lights will again be switched on, welcoming the approach of Christmas to the CBD. Strongly supported by your Chamber of Commerce.  Kiama Municipal Council and Kiama Tourism, this widely admired spectacle of hundreds of twinkling lights adorning the magnificent Norfolk Pine trees along Terralong Street, will again draw many visitors and residents to Kiama’s town centre. And on 17th December the wonderful ‘Carols by Candlelight’ evening in Hindmarsh Park will take place, so what a wonderful time to be in Kiama!

KDCC Network Meeting - Bellachara Boutique Motel

The New Executive of the Kiama & District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that their first Network Meeting will be held at the Bellachara Boutique Hotel, Gerringong, on the evening of Wednesday 19th November.

 

The evening will provide the new Executive and Chamber members with a wonderful opportunity to “meet and greet” the new Councillors and Department Heads for the Kiama and District Council.

 

The format of the evening will be informal and start at 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.  A hot and cold buffet, wine and beer will be served at a cost of $20 per head.

 
POSTPONED - Street Parade and Band Concert

Unfortunately, due to time constraints and insufficient resources, we have no option but to postpone the Street Parade and Band Concert booked for the 30 November 2008. The Chamber and the Australian Army Band intends to re-schedule this event in 2009.  Watch this space for future announcements
